TATA NANO, BRAKES
The cars that are manufactured these days have anti lock brakes in the front to reduce the braking distance and skidding. But in the name of frugal engineering TATA has done away with even disk brakes in the front and have installed ordinary drum brakes in NANO. Their argument is that as the engine weight is in the rear of the car ordinary drum brakes will do and that the breaking distance will be similar to that of Maruti-800. Come to think of it, even motor cycles these days come with disk brakes in the front wheel .will this not compromise on the safety of the dream car NANO?
