The myths of Assisted living
An efficient substitute for old age homes is the assisted living centers which have come as a boon to the old and the infirm in our society. These assisted living centers help the aged in their activities of daily living and also provide relief and comfort by taking up the chunk of the responsibilities of housekeeping like laundry and cleaning and above all facilitating medical care of the old men and women. They also help them live life independently and with dignity. It is a myth that they encroach on the privacy of the individual, that they are not affordable and beyond our means and above all having to make compromises and adjustments in life. Assisted living is definitely a boon to those nuclear families where it is difficult for the younger ones to take care of the elderly in the family.
