In cricket, it takes an average of 3 minutes for a bowler to complete his over. It would be hard to believe if someone says that a bowler can complete his over in 35 seconds. But there were occasions a bowler had bowled an over in just less than a minute. Former Nottinghamshire offspinner Bryan who played during 1940’s had once managed to bowl an over in 34.93 seconds. More recently, it was during a match between Yorkshire and Sussex played at Headingley in 2007, Pakistani player Younis Khan bowled an over in 35 seconds against Sussex. Let us see which player is going to break this record.

ENTHRALLING EQUILIBRIST

without comments

An equilibrist is a performer who entertains people with balancing acts such a tightrope walking. An equilibrist dares to complete a walk from one high location to another (usually a high-raised building) on nothing, but a high tension rope or wire. The performer usually without any safety arrangements, equipped only with a balancing pole walks bravely on the tightrope. The motive of tightrope walkers is usually to set or break location specific records. A documentary on Philippe Petit from France, “Man on Wire” went on to win a Grand Jury Prize for World Cinema Documentary. Walking on the edge seems to be a part and parcel of life for such performers.
